About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To take the road less travelled
ABOUT ME
My partner Michael and I both quit our jobs in October 2008 to take a roadtrip across America. We felt it was time to leave a conventional lifestyle to others and have ourselves an adventure using savings that would've gone towards a mortgage instead! My background is wildlife conservation and Michael's is IT, writing and politics. After returning home and moving to the beautiful city of Cambridge to do the conventional thing again, we're on the move once more, leaving the UK in Feb 2012 and this time travelling to Dubai, Oz, New Zealand and who knows where else?! We love volunteering and staying with/meeting local people enroute, so hope to do plenty of CSing, wwoofing and visiting eco-villages.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is what you make it and only you can change your situation and path in life. We all have a choice and I choose to make the most of my short time on this planet. I like to go against the norm and do what I want to do, not what others believe I should be doing. Too many people have lost their connection with nature and the spiritual world, and I for one want to keep mine alive and healthy. Luckily my partner Michael agrees with most of the above!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have surfed several couches during our US and Oz travels and all have been a fantastic experience, for which we are truly grateful. I love the whole idea of couchsurfing and one day when we eventually 'settle down' we will return the gesture and host others. It is such a great way for travellers and locals to meet, swapping stories and experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have stayed with several hosts in the US and Oz, all fantastic experiences where we were made to feel like old friends rather than complete strangers!
Interests
Both of us enjoy wildlife, nature and the great outdoors, new adventures and experiences, meeting people and amateur dramatics. I also love to play sport (netball, basketball) and Michael's passions include travel, writing and politics.
