Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I use it as a tool to meet new people and do fun things where ever I happen to be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I heard about CS was at a pension hostel in Olympus, Turkey (Shabon--go there) from a warrior woman aptly named Athena. She had only ever had one negative experience; she woke up one morning to her host sucking on her toes, but he stopped when she told him to. I was intrigued by CS but never got involved until recently when my friend and I decided to invited CSers to a party were we throwing in NYC. Meeting people from the internet was a lot less scary than I thought and I've since met up with several CS locals and travelers in NYC and UB for parties, soccer, hiking and hanging out. It's been a great way to meet people and still have adventures while at home.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tried to summit a volcano in Ecuador, kayaked along the Amalfi Coast of Italy until the coast guard pulled me over, stayed in a tree house/garden of eden pension hostel in Turkey, watched the sun come up over the Appalachian Trail in Virginia, played rugby in a prom dress, visited the Musee d'Orsay in Paris, biked the Hudson River bike path in NYC at sunset, watched shooting stars from a paddle board, didn't get eaten in the Amazon Rain Forest, swam naked during the day and under a full moon in New England, taught English in the Gobi desert in Mongolia, ate bacon chocolate.
