About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make friends from across the world here in Edinburgh and to travel the world bit by bit (when I can find a cat-sitter!)

ABOUT ME

I currently live in a lovely little flat near Edinburgh city centre with my little cat/demon from hell, Pippa. I work as a support worker with adults who have disabilities. I really love my job and am incredibly passionate about equal rights. I love to learn about other cultures, languages, ideologies, philosophies, and viewpoints. Equally, I love sitting in with a film and eating a tub of ice cream with a friend. I don't take life too seriously but do have an innate need for organisation and punctuality!

PHILOSOPHY

"Live and let live" as they say. .. but learn along the way. I'm interested in the anthroposophical way of life but I'm very open-minded. I welcome opportunities with open arms and always care for those around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE
As a previous host I now have to admit that my poor cat really dislikes strangers so hosting on a regular basis isn't fair for her. However, I would love to meet travellers here. I can show people around on my days off, meet up with people for a chat, practice English, and just generally be a friendly face for people who are visiting. I also open my arms to any traveller who is feeling homesick, or just needs a hug, a cry or a laugh. Travelling can be lonely but you are never truly alone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a few folk staying and I met a couple of friends through the Saarbruecken group. The pays basque/B.A.B group made up the majority of friends I made whilst living in Biarritz! Awesome, awesome people.... Thank goodness for couchsurfing!!

Interests

crafting, tea drinking, chatting, languages, reading, sightseeing, market and charity shop browsing, dancing, walking, gardening, playing board games, baking, my work, animals, cultures....

Music, Movies, and Books

I love bands such as Seeed, Luke, Bonobo, Skream, Zaz, Many Chao,
Los Atlánticos, Orkestra del Sol, Dub Inc.... an eclectic mix! Anything I can dance too :) I enjoy feel-good films, or films with a really good story or message. Not so keen on the horrors or violent ones. I enjoy almost all books - again other than horror and gruesome/depressing storylines.
