About Me

A Korean adoptee who grew up and graduated in Denmark. After graduation my daily life consisted of research in the field of Medical Informatics and Health Science, trying to save the world – or... something alike. A little contribution to saving the world is good enough for me – same same.

As my contract ended I made the spontaneous decision to move to Korea, to learn about my roots and get a grasp of this mysterious language.
Returning to Denmark, still confused about the Korean language, I started a new job within the Government, again, covering Health Care.

Beside saving the world I enjoy running around in circles (on the athletic track though – and YES I need all of my 18 pairs of shoes!) competing in championships and competitions abroad – it helps me getting in shape which is definitely needed in order to keep up with my cheeky cat – a huge British short hair (amazingly fast despite his weight!).

All this activity equals a lot of burned calories – what a luck I love cooking food and EATING it for that matter. So all the cooking classes in high school and boarding school paid off after all! And, my lovely espresso machine used to ensure I got enough calories... trust me.

I enjoy travel and meeting people from all around the world – traveling all around the US (even settled down for a semester to study in Chicago), Europe and now the new favorite – Asia!

My stay in the US got me immersed in various cultures and meeting people. This became a turning point...

So, why not volunteer for a buddy program ensuring new international students get a blast while studying in Denmark and meeting new people? I did what I could to make that happen during my 3 years :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great way to socialize and meet up with people from other cultures. Volunteering has given me lots of new perspectives and inputs.

Interests

I've always been interested in sports and been active throughout all my life. Half marathon on roller blades at 11, running full marathon at 17, and competing in Danish championships on distances from 200m to 10km, road, XC and indoor.

Gave other disciplines a go, but always returned to running.

Beside my training I enjoy cooking, and been inspired from the US and especially the Asian cuisine. Good food with a glass of wine or a good cup of coffee is always enjoyable :)
