About Me

Hi! I'm recovering from cancer and trying to THRIVE ! I'm blessed with a loving husband and all my animals. All my animals are rescues and I try to do my part in spreading the word about rescuing animals. I love to fish, hike, play guitar and sing, travel, go to concerts and just meet and talk to new people. I am a musician and an artist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people coming through our city, and so that I may be able to travel more easily.

Music, Movies, and Books

gosh I just love so much music it would be hard for me to write it all out. I currently have over 3000 songs on my iTunes ranging from Rap, bluegrass, worship music, folk, blues... Etc. movies is also a pretty big deal in my life as we have over 500 DVDs. If I was on a desert island and had three movies to choose from I would pick dream team, vacation, and maybe tombstone. Books are kind of a sore subject for me as I have my issues due to my cancer treatments but I have been listening to books and a recent one I listen to was called "love does"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Besides my experience with cancer and surviving all of the horrible side effects and being the longest living person on earth who had what I had and went through what I went through… Another amazing experience would be my trip to Haiti where I was able to help raise money for orphanages and churches. I was glad I was able to do that but really the people there blessed me more than I could ever bless them. It changed my life see people that had absolutely nothing be so happy and content.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to crochet, play the guitar, and I know how to do a lot of arts and crafts that I enjoy teaching. As a former science teacher and a lover of nature I love to teach people anything I know about most anything. Most importantly I love to share my story of survival and to help people realize that they can have joy in the mist of suffering and that this too shall pass.

What I Can Share with Hosts

First and foremost I could share my story and life experience with cancer because as I have found out cancer has touched most everyone in one way or the other. You can also share my love of playing the guitar and singing. I'd love to show someone the beauty of nw ga.
