关于我
Hey I'm Heather,
I'm a people-person and documentary filmmaker from the U.S. Currently based in China, I create videos and teach some brilliant college students about western journalism and the nuances of the English language. My favorite part about living abroad is learning what gives life meaning to people from different walks of life. The people make the place for me.
My largest goal in my twenties is to travel in a way that I actually experience the places I'm in-- I would love to meet new friends from all over and explore places not seen by every tourist.
So far, I've lived in Denmark, spent over a month in the Netherlands, left a piece of my heart in Italy and have made smaller treks through Southern Europe and Southeast Asia. I'd love to swap travel stories sometime soon!
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
In February, I wrap up a trip through Thailand and Myanmar. I'm into couchsurfing because:
-exploring places like a local is a passion of mine
-new international friends make the adventures that much better--and I find we often meet again on the road
-my two couchsurfing experiences so far have done the best job in introducing me to what couchsurfing is all about
I can't host at the moment, but will update my profile as soon as that changes.

I'm a videographer and lifestyle media junkie, who appreciates: food--particularly anything covered in chocolate or cheese, thrift shopping and DIY projects, spirituality around the globe, performing and visual arts (both watching and creating), acting, flower picking, interior design, collecting feathers and seashells, piano and guitar music, doodling, walks in dusk +dawn, and listening to other people's life stories.

I'm upbeat, easy-going and polite. Essentially, I can guarantee a hosting experience that doesn't--well--suck. The few acting classes I've taken, along with some random college plays, have prompted to me to create a repertoire of stereotypical accents from around America and the world, if the conversation runs quiet and you need a laugh. I can also make a mean batch of brownies without a recipe. And I think, most importantly, I'm happy to share a new love for the place you live in. (Because who doesn't like feeling like their home is--you know---pretty cool or something?)
