The idea is to feel at home, anywhere!☮

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
I'm from Canada. I actually like hockey, I put maple syrup on virtually everything, and no morning is complete without a double-double from Timmy-Ho. But setting factual stereotypes aside, I am a pretty easy person to get along with. I like sports, foreign beers, and bands that my dad listened to when he rocked a mullet. But I also like chocolate, wearing dresses, and watching Dirty Dancing 12x's too many. I am also a really easy going person. I am never in a rush, and I like to slow down and appreciate the finer things in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been on CS for a while now and from my own personal experiences, there is no better way to meet people than through travelling and sharing stories. Since I have been travelling more frequently I have met some really amazing people and have seen some great sights. I get to hear so many beautiful and inspiring stories from travellers that I happen upon in new cities, and have found unlikely friends from all over the world. I love the idea of being able to open up my heart and my home to travellers to share in that mutual love of adventure.☮

Interests

Reading, writing, listening to music, rocking out on my air guitar, rugby, fitness, the great outdoors, camping, hiking, travelling, meeting new people, cooking, and binge watching episodes of Adventure Time on Netflix.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Tale of Two Cities, Vanity Fair, all books from J.R.R. Tolkien, anything from Shakespeare, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Pride and Prejudice, Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Harry Potter (obviously)… to be fair this list could go on.

Movies: I'll literally watch anything but I love Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, iconic 80's movies, cult classics like Clockwork Orange and Rocky Horror, anything from Studio Ghibli, war flicks, and of course, disney movies.

Bands: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Said the Whale, The Beatles, The Eagles, The Doors, Credence Clearwater Revival, City and Colour, Blink 182, Arctic Monkeys, Tallest Man on Earth, Simon & Garfunkel … and a whole bunch of random artists I think are the bees knees

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learned how to do the Hustle, ate a whole box of cereal in 1 hour, travelled from one end of the UK to the other in just 24 hours, got stung by a jellyfish in Cuba, skate the full length of the Rideau Canal, did the Tough Mudder in 2013, read every single Shakespeare play and sonnet (one of my proudest moments), moved to Scotland for a year, survived a 26 hour bus ride from Scotland to Paris, finished a tour around Europe all by myself, completed the Tongariro Alpine Crossing (aka Mordor), went on a road trip through the South Island of New Zealand, and now I am looking for the next amazing thing to add to the list... maybe complete the Tour du Mont Blanc next summer!

Teach, Learn, Share

Not too much I can offer in the teaching department, except maybe the difference between Orcs and Uruk Hai. But what I lack in linguistic skills, I certainly make up for in cooking and baking!

Maybe if you're nice I will teach you how to do the Hustle

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think the best thing I can share with my hosts and surfers is my love for the outdoors, travel, story telling, my cooking skills, and my hidden talent, singing (although I am not that good- wish I could play guitar to mask those notes I can't quite hit yet!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cuba, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, Switzerland, United States
