About Me

I am a lover of life with a bit of the wanderlust. I love exploring the world and meeting new people. I am a nurse and have been for over 17 years, which I will say gives me a quirky sense of humor.

I have an unhealthy love for Disney and have gone to all the Disney parks of the world (minus the new one in Shanghai but it is on my to do list). I like all things Halloween and spooky, October is my favorite time of the year. It's not just because I enjoy dressing up and wearing customs or free candy. I am a fat kid at heart and spend the majority of my travels finding things to eat and drink. I enjoy museums, art galleries, and the macabre.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Bring me that horizon. I have recently decided that because travel makes me happy that I am going to do more of it. When I go to a new place I like to have a local point of contact and a friend to explore with. I appreciate having any insight as to the best places to visit and more importantly to eat....I love food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Wow that is a loaded question. My favorite stations in my car include 40's, classic rock, Goth/Indusial, metal, punk, and classical just to name a few.

Movies: Disney, horror, Sci-fi, action, comedy and historical documentaries....pretty much any thing but sappy romantic shit.

Books: All quite on the western front is one of my favorites but I really enjoy pretty much anything done by Christopher Moore, Anne Rice, Michael Crichton, Marquis De Sade, or anything medical based.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have lead a pretty amazing life so far but one thing that stands out is the time I moved to Thailand for three months. I signed up for a volunteer program working in an orphanage for handicapped children in Bangkok. I was able to work hands on with children in need but I also got the opportunity to explore Southeast Asia while I was there. There was amazing food, people, friends, and sites.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: They say nurses like it harder, deeper, and faster....CPR saves lives. I can teach you compressions and basic first aid, all the words to A Whole New World, and the industrial stomp.

Learn: I am always willing to learn new things.

Share: You can have half my sandwich :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A friendly personality, witty sense of humor, a cold drink, and a willingness to do dishes . I generally try to be as helpful as possible and I would try to extend that to anyone kind enough to host me.
