I am an American from Florida. I am currently living and teaching in Suzhou, China. I am a Single mom, of the laid-back variety. I majored in history and English in college, and I have worked in environmental consulting, labor relations and healthcare. I lean left.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pandora says my tastes are "jangle pop". Dr. Who and Sherlock and anything else Steven Moffat might come up with belong in this section, and I like to read Carl Hiassen, Louise Penny, and other light stuff. I read more thought provoking material in an earlier life, pre-kids. Now I prefer things I can read in an evening.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This trip has felt pretty amazing so far! We've been on the road for about 6 weeks as of early July. The first night out camping by myself and my 3 year old, I could hardly sleep worried about bears and stuff. Now I've shooed a bear off the campsite and slept like a log the same night.
