About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel as far as we can for as long we can
ABOUT ME
My name is Heather. I am a young, happily married, lady with a strong wander lust and zest for life. I enjoy yoga, down hill skiing and hiking. I love the mountains and my mountain community in Canada. I also adore exploring new places! I am a people person and the secret to my heart is a chai latte.
Riley, my husband, is passionately curious. He loves to organize travel expeditions and not only explore new spaces but learn all the history that goes along with it. He is very adventurous and athletic and is an avid surfer, skier, snowboarder, mountain biker, rock climber and motor cyclist. Yet he is laid back and he has a soft side and is the most generous person I've met. He's a bit of a handy man and he likes to build stuff. Riley is also a sports enthusiast and he will watch and play any sport known to man.
We live in the beautiful town of Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada. We have a strong catholic faith and we enjoy celebrating mass in many different communities as we travel. We both value a healthy life style and we strive to eat clean and give back to the environment and community. We are family people and we miss our two nieces dearly!
PHILOSOPHY
Life is short, forgive quickly, love truly, kiss slowly, laugh loudly, and never regret anything that made you smile.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We love to visit, hear stories, share stories and pitch in around the house. Maybe play a few card games, too! I hope to meet as many people as we can and hopefully get a place to sleep! I can't wait until we have a place of our own and can host some surfers in Revelstoke!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have had nothing but positive experiences with the amazing people who have hosted us! We are very grateful for the new friends made and experiences gained. Looking forward to meeting new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
My husband and I love all kinds of music, mostly groups that are not main stream. We really like folk music and we love going to live shows, but we enjoy pretty much any genre. I love listening to dub-step and dance club music when I am walking or cleaning; it pumps me up!
We watch quite a few movies. If we don't have access to Netflix, we rent movies from the local library. We like a good comedy and Riley likes action films or anything based on a true story. I am a sucker for a good rom com!
My husband and I love to read! He's into Clive Cluster-type action novels and I love girlie feel good ones (Jill Mansell is my absolute favourite). Riley also reads tons of manuals, mostly motorcycle ones and I love magazines. I always have a stack by my bed (from the library).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Heather met some amazing orphans while doing aid work in Haiti after the earthquake in 2010. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to work in the community that I did and meet the most inspiring people. I like to compare the children I met to the "Who's" from "Whoville" (from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas). The Who's were still happy after the Grinch stole Christmas; the children I met were so happy and full of life despite the devastation and loss they suffered from earthquake.
Riley's most memorable moments: surfing with dolphins and exploring magnetic island by motorcycle!!
