ABOUT ME
I just finished my second degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I love that city and it taught me that my favourite part of travelling is getting to know the authentic city - the places the locals love best, the places that mean the most to friends, etc. Now I am ready to love cities around the world.
In September I will move back to Canada, this time settling in Vancouver to start graduate school.
I have lots of family so I love to spend time with people and I am used to sharing my space with others. I love to be surrounded by people and hear their stories.
PHILOSOPHY
If you work hard you can be good at anything.
I have always stood by the fact that if you work harder than anyone else you can be great at anything you want.
*I have not been able to prove this philosophy with sports yet!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am brand new to couch surfing. I spent 5 weeks this summer doing a French Immersion program in rural Quebec (Canada) and the program came really highly recommended by my peers. So I figured I would give a try on my summer travels. I am currently only surfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the summer of 2012 I participated in a language exchange program supported by the Canadian Government. I lived in an entirely Francophone community for 5 weeks with a host family, took classes and immersed myself in the language/culture. I went in knowing almost no French and not being able to speak anything and left being able to have a complete conversation. Now I have the language bug!
Teach, Learn, Share
Things that I would love to build a community around:
Volunteering/service-learning trips
Sign language (I had joined a small group of interested learners in Hamilton but then I moved)
