About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see absolutely everything.

ABOUT ME

Hello!

I am 25 years old and I want to go everywhere the world has to offer. I love learning new cultures and sub-cultures but I suppose everyone on here has a little bit of a closet anthropologist in them. I have managed to travel a bit and I have been lucky enough to be able to go with friends but now I am striking out on my own. So I am happy and excited but perhaps a little bit nervous.

I love listening to stories and make an excellent coffee buddy although I might be hard pressed to say no to a local beer or wine. As for hobbies I read, I love music (and can try my hand at singing without having rotten foodstuffs thrown at me), and have an embarrassing penchant for listening to National Public Radio. I also come out with the most random fun facts at the most peculiar times and make references that bounce between Shakespeare and Wilde all the way up to Doctor Who. Also, I know it is cliché and impossible to look for, but in travel I am always waiting for that moment where you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, doing nothing more surreal than drinking a coffee with new friends, and find yourself think Life. Is. Amazing.

So, now that you know of my idiosyncrasies and are still (huzzah!) reading, maybe I will see you around.

P.S. I also just joined Help X so if anyone is looking for a travel buddy to places far flung...

P.P.S. I realize I am new so if anyone is uncomfortable and wants more verification I am more than happy to call, send pictures or my very, very filled out facebook url.

PHILOSOPHY

Live each moment like you will never have the same chances again. Make friends, forgive grievances, and try to learn something new from everyone you meet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to be able to meet new people, share ideas and stories and generate new memories and leave an impression that matters.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent my last trip couchsurfing, a little over a month in total and it was fabulous. Before that I had spent a month on a friends floor in Korea (it was heated and amazing as floors go), and have enjoyed my fair share of hostels (the one within walking distance of Loch Ness was particularly memorable...especially after the jaunt to the castle next door.)

Interests

Gah, everything? I love travel, books, music, I have an odd fondness for coffee, and find myself spending to much money at the theater (and plane tickets).

Music, Movies, and Books

This section should not be the hardest to fill out and yet I find myself stalling. I am infatuated with books and music and even movies. It is a bit like travel in some ways, only the entire thing is in your hands.

I have a (dorky) love of Doctor Who, of Sherlock BBC and Sherlock Holmes Granada and am completely unrepentant.

My books range from Hamlet, which I adore, to Game of Thrones, to whatever caught my fancy at a book sale.

Movies I love obscure things I only found by serendipity (Third Star, Les Chansons d'Amour, RAGE), and things that blindside me into loving them like Batman, Rent, and Love Actually.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am (a bit)afraid of heights and the moment I jumped out of an airplane and fell through the sky I was not scared at all. It wasn't falling. It was flying.

Teach, Learn, Share

Gosh, I am fluent in English which I am more than happy to help with, I am a decent hand at computers and gadgets and an absolute well of useless knowledge.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, France, Iceland, Ireland, Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
