About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To survive, and be happy.
ABOUT ME
I live in the house where my grandfather was born. There's only me and my daughter here now, so I have plenty of room for guests. I have done a lot of travelling (on the cheap!) in Europe, but Littlebourne has always been my base.
I dance and sing with a medieval/Tudor group, and have been a morris dancer since 1984.
We have a Jack Russel, who is very good with people, but is very lively and barks quite a lot! This is not a good house for people who do not like dogs!
PHILOSOPHY
Don't really have one. Just muddle through as best I can. Prefer not to have too much thinking time...try to keep busy...always got something to do. I get the most satisfaction from stepping back and saying "I did that".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I've only hosted. One day I hope to have enough money to spare to do some more travelling, and then I look forward to doing some surfing - hopefully with some of the people I've hosted, because I'd love to meet them again.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I was younger, I used to hitch everywhere - including all through Europe - usually with my boyfriend. Sometimes we were offered a bed for the night, which was wonderful. I would just like to do other people the same favour.
Interests
Acappella singing, medieval/Tudor dancing, all types of sewing but especially making historical costumes, theatre especially ballet, improving my house, and finding easier ways to keep the garden tidy. When I have enough money I also enjoy travelling in Europe and have skied most winters. I also enjoy keeping in touch with old friends - mainly, these days, by email and Facebook. Language and languages still fascinate me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Early and folk music mostly, but lots of other types too, depending on my mood.
I'll try reading anything, but usually enjoy science fiction and fantasy most. Same with movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not really amazing (that's a very big word) but I was on a kibbutz from 83 - 84.
Various things that amaze me include standing on the top of snow covered mountains, architecture like Gaudi's cathedral in Barcelona, the garden coming back to life in the spring, Venice, how nice some people are, and how horrible others can be.
And my daughter - she amazes me - in a very positive way!
