About Me

Looking for fun and trying to push my comfort zone. I also happen to be: a burgeoning knitter, a wannabe green thumb, and an avid reader. Growing, preparing, and eating food, especially with others, is one of the things I enjoy most. I can't relate to people who skip breakfast.

2018 will be bringing graduate school and a move back to Colorado...I'm looking forward to new faces and new places!

More practically: I'm a low-key individual who treasures early bedtimes and early mornings. I've been lucky enough to stay with multiple host families over the course of my travels and it has always created a richer experience. I value anyone who opens up their homes to others - you're doing a great thing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it's a great thing, and I want to be a part of it!

I've never actively participated in Couchsurfing, but I've hung out with Couchsurfers friends were hosting and always had a great time. Currently I'm more on the side of needing couches upon which to surf, but I hope to be able to host surfers of my own in the near future.

Interests

I work at an outdoor gear and bike shop, so I get to learn nerdy things about gear on an almost daily basis. I also happen to work with a bunch of folks who know way too much about bikes. I didn't start out as one of those people, but their enthusiasm is definitely getting to me. I just got my first gravel bike and I'm stoked on it!

If you enjoy: yoga, hiking, road tripping, backpacking (not opposed to glamping though), building the perfect camp fire, star gazing, map reading...we will probably get along.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fun fact I studied abroad in Mongolia during college. That's not really amazing, but it sure was a formative experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm currently trying a lot of different food fermentation. I've yogurt and kombucha and I'm always pickling vegetables. Right now I'm having a lot of fun making sourdough bread.

Mostly I like talking to people about what they love. When passion shines through the conversation just about any topic becomes interesting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm really, really good at doing the dishes. Besides that, I can share smiles and conversation and respect and a healthy sense of humor. I can't wait to meet you!

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Czech Republic, Germany, Mongolia, Peru, Puerto Rico
