About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to discover myself whilst helping as many people along the way and learning everyday.

ABOUT ME

I've really got the travel bug, especially after returning from my first rainbow gathering in April this year in Germany. I want to visit friends I have made and make loads of new friends along the way. There is so much to learn! I want to learn any new knowledge or skill that I can. Every time I travel somewhere new, I feel so much wiser. Each step is literally a step to discovering what life is all about and how the best way is to live it.
I come from an academic background, I did well in school and college and landed up on my dream course at Lancaster University - Medicine. At 18, to become at doctor was all that was important to me. And so far, my life plan was on track. But soon I realised that my career was not the most important thing in my life, and things don't always go according to plan. So I took some time out, travelled, met some amazing people. In the end I decided not to go back to university and how to be extremely happy and help as many people as possible instead. These are my two philosophies in life. I now work for the ambulance service, I also care for a girl with severe ME and I help out my mum who has recently adopted two middle aged men with learning difficulties. All three jobs are amazing in their different ways... and the best thing is I can work as and when I want to. Which leaves me time and energy to travel! I want to go to as many places as possible. This summer the general plan is hitchhiking Europe, heading towards the east. But I'm open to all possibilities. This world has no limits!

PHILOSOPHY

Love yourself and love each other. Learn everyday. Make good, genuine friends. Help people as much as you can. Eat good, nutritious food which the world has provided us. Practice what you are good at and recognise your gifts. Meditate. Have an awesome relationship with God. Music. Laughter. And lots and lots of hugs. This is what makes me happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm fairly new to couch surfing. It's hard to host because of the two lovely men with learning difficulties who now live with us. Plus I don't plan on sticking around for much longer.
I'm hoping there will be some generous people out there who might like to host me. I've done workaway in the past and to rainbow gatherings too, which has taught me to just really get stuck in and embrace the situation. I'd certainly be mucking in with the washing up, cooking... in fact I'd really like to. Equally I really would like to learn new skills - maybe new recipes? I also don't mind being left to my own devices if hosts are busy with work etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far... I've only been a member for a month. I offered someone a room for a few nights but he already had a host. So me and my friend arranged to meet up with him and show him some nice places around the town as his host was busy. I think he enjoyed it!

Music, Movies, and Books

All sorts...
Although my book collection is fairly limited to medical, religious and wild plants... mainly reference. Never been able to appreciate a good novel, unless someone reads it to me!
Music generally sounds better when played around a fire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping under the stars in the Sahara in Morocco.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can bring a lot of energy to a place, I think, or so I have been told. I'm medical minded, I like to try and figure out health problems. I can certainly cook and clean. I'm good with children, especially infants. I can listen well....

What I Can Share with Hosts

Beautiful proper English tea!!!
