About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wanderlusting in the Southwest, now Northwest

ABOUT ME

I enjoy traveling, exploring, and learning more about cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

Hope is more radical than despair.
Kindness is most important. And kindness is different and deeper than being nice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard about this project before in an article and decided to be part of it. I think that it is a great way to feel community--nationally and globally.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had an awesome time couchsurfing. It's such a way to get to know more about an area and get to know people. I have wanted to host for a while, and now I'm at a space and place where I can host.

Interests

International experiences, stories, politics; nature and walking in it; being active in community building and/or volunteering, creativity--all things creative, writing poetry, fiction, nonfiction, lyric essays; dancing; history--and fun tid bits; travelling most definitely, speaking spanish; public and community health; honestly, I am a naturally curious person but am interested in about anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

authors I like: Sherman Alexie, Sandra Cisneros, Julia Alvarez,W.B.Yeats, Beth Ann Fennelly, Kurt Vonnegut, etc.

Music: blues, rock, hip-hop, folk, classic oldies, latin, etc.

Movies: Office Space, Zoolander, 27 Dresses, Sin Nombre, a mixture of light and fluffy, light and comical, satirical, and dramatical. I enjoy movies for different things--I don't expect a romantic comedy to be a dramatic film that makes me examine my life--rather it is for lightness. I have been really enjoying documentaries a lot. Until the Violence Stops is a really good one.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Peace Corps

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a futon in my living room. I can only really host for 2 days since my job gets pretty hectic. I do have two indoor cats, so if you are allergic I may not be the best option. They are much pretty friendly. If you would just want to meet for a coffee, I am open to that. I know from my own travels that it is just nice to meet up with someone who lives in the locale and chat sometimes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, Panama, Peru, United States
