About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To connect with people and experience new places

ABOUT ME

My journey has taken me through careers in music, teaching, and now to the vocation of ministry. I love to travel, meet new people, and experience the beauty of nature.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a deeply spiritual person and believe that to truly live the lives that God intends, we have to fully know and interact with other people. I believe that we are partners in creation and when we reach out to one another in friendship and kindness it is a beautiful thing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classical music - Beethoven, Elgar, Mozart, Holst, Corelli and also Christian/Inspirational music. I have an appreciation for jazz. While my reading is extremely academic and theological right now, I love to escape with a novel and love to go to the movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two summers ago I had the chance to travel to many places in the US that I have never seen. One of my former students interned for jetBlue Airlines and chose me as the person to put on his buddy pass, giving me free unlimited air travel for the whole summer to anywhere jetBlue flies. I went to Washington DC, New York, Boston, Martha's Vineyard, San Francisco, Seatlle, Denver, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and went to some amazing National Parks.

The summer of 2012, I had a chance to travel in Europe. I went to France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, the UK, and Italy. I walked the last part of the French Camino de Santiago with my daughter.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to teach people how to crochet. It's a calming activity and can pass the time waiting for a plane or a train, while doing something productive. I make prayer shawls for people who are in hospitals and nursing homes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to eat delicious food and always love to share a meal with my hosts at a restaurant where they enjoy eating. I am content to be on my own if the hosts have a busy schedule and am also happy to help cook or clean up, if that is helpful to them. I'm very low maintenance and adaptable.
