One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

OK, so me and my friend are motorbiking from Hampi to Gokarna, India. As we enter the town of Gokarna and come to a crossing, I notice a big black monkey with a white face sitting on a fence piller. We stop for a few seconds, figuring out which road to take. (This monkey is obviousley a male protecting his area.)
I'm looking straight at him, and him at me. He starts lifting his top lip, exposing his teeth to me. I looked really funny, so I tell my friend to look at this funny monkey, doing these crazy lip movements. And my friend, then decides to "communicate" with the monkey. So he shows of his teeth to the monkey, not thinking that this, of course, is a sign of aggression.
At this point we decide to drive the scenic beach road, taking a left, leading us up a steep hill.
I must add that this bike was a Royal Enfield, the big version. big and heavy, and on top of that was heavily loaded with two people and two huge back-packs.
Back to the story.
From a standstill at the crossing, we start pushing up the hill. During this whole time, I've got my eyes on the monkey. Sensing something strange, the monkey turns as we turn. And within a split second, I see this monkey jump from the 3 meter piller, down on to the road and up on to the back of the bike, where I'm sitting. By the way, the monkey was about my size. Big alfa male.
Me being terrified, start screaming; "monkey monkey monkey!
My friend turns his head to see. swings his one arm towards the monkey, and hits the gas with his other hand. Amazingly the monkey jumps of the bike and up into a tree and disapears...
I was sure my time had come. I was shaking from adrenalin for about 15 min after and when we finally stopped, I could see the foot-print on a white bag just behind me.
My friend saved my life. scareing off the monkey and at the same time balancing the bike and getting us the hell out of there. Thank you Andreas!
