ABOUT ME

Hello everyone! I am living it up in good ol' Indianapolis. I have been living here for the past three years for college and love the city life. I am looking to expand my horizons and travel a bit. I have done alternative breaks with school to start off, which has been an amazing experience. If you don't know what those are, they are trips through my school and we go out of state and volunteer with a specific social issue and non profit for the extent of break. So that's a little bit about me! I would need a much larger space for a full description of me and my life.

I've pressed pause on this past bit about myself because I'm going on a new adventure! I've come back home for the summer and now that fall is coming around I'm taking a short break from school. I will be going to California with my friend, Haley. For about 5 weeks after that, I will be going to various parts of Australia. There, I hope to couchsurf a lot, volunteer, meet lots of new people, try as many new things as I can, and learn more about myself and this world that we live in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because I want to meet new people. I've never gotten to travel all that much and I'm working on changing that. With couchsurfing, I hope that I can have traveling experiences that are more meaningful and make some friends along the way. With the alternative breaks, we have stayed with hosts in a similar manor and they have all been wonderful experiences and I hope to do the same with couchsurfing

Interests

Adventure, art, coffee, volunteering, biking, nature, thrift shopping (I will gladly take your grandpa's hand-me-downs), local beer, and many many more.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies. I will watch anything at least once. Some of my favorites are Singing in the Rain, Dirty Dancing, I Love You Man, anything with Paul Rudd really.....

As far as music goes, I am pretty open to new music. I have favorites like Bastille, Vampire Weekend, Local Natives, Sufjan Stevens, electronic kind of stuff is pretty spiffy, oldies and so on but I have a large variety that I listen to. The only things that I am not super fond of are country and heavy metal.

I love Kurt Vonnegut books. I originally fell in love with Slaughterhouse-Five and moving to Indianapolis (his home town) for college has expanded my love for his writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spring break of 2013 I went to South Dakota on an alternative spring break trip and I had the opportunity to go into a sweat lodge with a Lakota medicine man.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my life experiences, cheesy jokes, and my love/anxiety towards travel. I am still young and want to learn as much as I can. I have a set of hands that can help out and a set of ears that are eager to listen.
