Hmmm, about me, what to say..... Well, no matter what I say you won't really know until you meet me. I imagine that I am a touch peculiar and seriously curious. I like to explore things that are entirely alien to me. I enjoy being a little uncomfortable and outside of my element.

To be a bit more concrete, I am a Native American from North Carolina, USA. I grew up in the country, exploring the depths of forests and heights of trees. My education and profession seek to understand the environmental consequences of human activity and design solutions for improved future cities that are more sustainable, inclusive, healthy and beautiful.

I Couchsurf because I like to meet new people. When I travel, I prefer to explore neighborhoods, street art and places where local people enjoy spending their time; rather than herding around with a bunch of tourists taking pictures of things. Couchsurfing, for me, has been a cool way to learn about a city from a citizen's perspective. I like to think of myself as a traveler, not a tourist.

I don't have favorite anythings. I'm easily amused and try to appreciate the little things. That being said, when I have time for leisure reading I tend to choose poetry, or beautifully written prose. Mya Angelou, Toni Morrison and Langston Huges are all special to me. Honestly though, I am a student and a researcher so I don't ever have time for pleasure reading as I spend many hours a week reviewing technical documents and journal articles.

Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Tarantino movies have been occupying all of my TV time recently, but that is sure to change with the seasons.

Music.... sick beats and twisted lyrics is all I need. I've been listening to a lot of Jazz and Blues recently. I'm a longtime lover of old school HipHop, and European life has softened me to electronic music, but I still don't know so many artists.

With a lot of help, I designed and built a 2.5 cubic meter structure entirely out of 0.5 liter, plastic soda bottles and then lived in it for a week to raise money for Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that builds energy efficient, and beautiful homes for people in need. It was awesome.

I can share everything that I have. I LOVE to cook and I honestly enjoy cleaning. My mother passed to me the tradition of storytelling, and I have a mind full of funny and surreal stories to share over an afternoon coffee or an evening relaxing in the garden. I study efficiency and innovation. If you are interested, I could give you an energy, water and food audit and list easy ways that you can minimize your consumption and save a lot of money throughout the year. You can consider me a sounding board for creative or technical ideas and I will help you brainstorm feasibility and improvements. I publish creative and technical texts, and I would be happy to give a critical editing eye to any written projects in English.
