About Me

ABOUT ME

the one thing I love and I'm very good at is telling stories. A lot of awkward or odd stuff happens to me and I love making people laugh by telling everything in detail. I'm not embarrased quick so that's good. I'm an awful cook, can't really sing, but I've got some funky dancemoves though. I don't smell much either, therefore I don't really care about food. I know, I'm missing out, but at least I'll eat anything. My idea of a good night would be eating (I do enjoy food sometimes ;)) together with friends, then accidentally getting drunk, cycle to some shit club and dance the night away, wake up next to my flatmate, who is also my best friend, and discuss the night before while being in pajamas.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophies always sound silly but I think it's important to keep yourself happy and make others around you laugh.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

they were all fantastic so far :)

Interests

I started studying literature because I thought we would have to learn a lot about history. That's not the case, although I do enjoy reading philosophers ideas about literature, I still love history and especially old buildings. That's why living in Rome was amazing. I spent my days in Amsterdam doing normal student stuff; studying, going out, working in a bar, getting my groove on in clubs. I've now moved to Glasgow to study 'Dress and Textile Histories' because I love costume history. I'm very much looking forward to living in Glasgow for the next two years :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh man, It's always hard not come across pretentious when speaking about music, films or books ;)
That's why I listed my favourite songs in the world:
the jam - town called malice
the cure - just like heaven
fleetwood mac - man of the world
the searchers - needles and pins
the shout out louds - please please please

I like kinda cute british films like Billy Elliot, the full monty etc. My favourite films include 'Inglorious bastars', 'Y tu mama tambien', 'Mine Vaganti' and 'almost famous;
(My absolute guilty please is 'Dirty Dancing 2')

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

aaah mate, so hard to choose. I think the most recent moment when I was lost for words was when I went up the Empire State building and saw the view over New York. It was mind blowing. I could have stayed up there for hours. And despite being born and brought up in Amsterdam, the city still makes my heart swell up when I cycle along the canals and the sun is shining and everbody is out, enjoying a beer or coffee outside.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy learning from people who have been around longer than I have and have done stuff I've always wanted to do but haven't done yet. Or people who have specific ideas about subjects that I haven't really thought about yet.
