CURRENT MISSION

We're on the second part of a round-the-world-sort-of bike journey, in the Americas.

ABOUT ME

We're a couple who love to travel slowly......In April2017 we set off by bike to cycle through a bit of Europe before heading to Canada. Our plan is to cycle south along the eastern seaboard and visit Cuba and Mexico too before deciding where to go next.
This is our fourth long journey. In 2012 we travelled by bike from Norway to Japan, across Europe and Asia over 3 years. In July 2010 we returned from a three and half year journey that began in Morocco and took us as far east as East Timor through Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, China & South East Asia.....for the last 6 months we rode bikes for the first time. Our first big trip was a 2 year journey around South America followed by 3 months trekking in Nepal - just to finish on a high note.
When we're not travelling we like to catch up with friends and family and also have travelling friends to stay. We enjoy hiking & wild camping in our own country, photography, books, cinema, music of many kinds, good food and wine and long discussions about the world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We used Couch-Surfing a few times on our last trip through Europe and Asia and we think it's a great idea. We enjoyed being Couch-Surfers and hosted too in Hebden Bridge and it's been a real pleasure to do that. On our last journey we had wonderful experiences meeting many great people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The people we've met while Couch Surfing have been open and interesting. Each experience has been good and very different. We've now hosted a few times too - a really rewarding and positive experience.

Receiving incredible kindnesses and hospitality from people all over the world. Tea, directions, rides, shelter, beer....

Cycling more then 5,500km through Thailand, Laos, China & Pakistan. We cycled down the Karakoram Highway in Pakistan!! Fab!!!

Trekking in Scotland, the Andes, the Himalaya, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and the Karakoram.

Taking a ferry up the Amazon, sleeping in hammocks, watching pink dolphins jumping in the river, as the sun rose over the mighty river - this was the most wonderful journey in the world.....
