About Me

I’m a senior software engineer based in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦, working remotely. My job gives me the flexibility to travel, so I try to take advantage of that whenever I can. I really enjoy solo traveling—it pushes me out of my comfort zone and gives me the chance to meet people I wouldn’t normally cross paths with. Along the way, I’ve found that the best part of traveling isn’t the places themselves, but the people and the stories you share with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling isn’t just about sightseeing—it’s about understanding how people live, think, and experience the world. I enjoy connecting with locals and learning about the cultural differences that shape everyday life.

CS feels like a more genuine way to experience a place compared to just staying in hotels.
And tbh, it also helps keep travel more sustainable financially, which just means I get to travel more often :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m really into pop jazz—one of my favorite artists is Laufey. Her music has this nostalgic and calm vibe that I enjoy, especially when I’m traveling or working remotely.

I also like reading books on psychology and sociology—they help me understand people and social dynamics a bit better, which is probably why I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds so much.

For movies, I’d go with Past Lives. It’s a quiet, emotional film about love, timing, and identity, and it really resonates with me as someone who has experienced immigration and cultural shifts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most memorable trips I’ve had was traveling through Iran 🇮🇷, including spending time in Tehran. Despite what you might hear in the news, my personal experience there was incredibly positive. The people I met were some of the most hospitable and warm I’ve ever encountered, and I made a few genuine friendships along the way.

I also tried scuba diving for the first time during that trip, which was both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking—but definitely something I’ll never forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Chinese if you'd like lol.

I'd like to learn anything!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m pretty easygoing and open minded. I’d be happy to explore the city together, grab food or drinks, or just hang out and talk about life, travel, or anything else. I also enjoy exchanging perspectives—whether it’s about culture, work, or personal experiences.

At the same time, I’m respectful of your space and routines, and I’m comfortable doing my own thing if needed. I try to be a considerate and low-maintenance guest.
