About Me

Venezuelan living in Rotterdam. I previously spent almost 9 years in Buenos Aires, where I fell in love with Argentine culture, especially mate, which for me is not just a drink but a ritual of conversation, connection and friendship.

I’m someone who truly values people, their stories and their cultures. That’s one of the main reasons I’m part of Couchsurfing: I genuinely enjoy cultural exchange and meaningful connections.

I love aviation and airplanes, flying gives me a feeling that words can’t fully describe. Cooking is my way of saying “welcome” and sharing a piece of who I am and where I come from. I enjoy exploring new places.

My philosophy is simple: leave people and places a little better than you found them.

Lately I’ve started exploring backpacking and bike touring, embracing a slower and more intentional way of traveling.

If you share this spirit, I’d genuinely enjoy connecting and perhaps sharing a route, a walk, or part of the journey together.

P.S.: If you send a request, make sure to include: “Roger, Wilco”.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe deeply in the beauty of human connection. For me, hosting is not a transaction but a meeting of souls.

What I offer isn’t material, it’s time, kindness, openness and the joy of sharing.

My home is a place of good energy, and you’re welcome with open arms.

If you visit Rotterdam, we can cook something together, share a mate and explore the city by bike. Simple moments often become the best memories.

Interests

Design, aviation and gastronomy are some of my main interests.

I enjoy cooking, spending time with family and friends, cycling, picnics, walking, trekking, mountains, photography and traveling with curiosity. Cultural exchange and sharing experiences are things I truly value.

We rise by lifting others. Personal growth often comes from supporting and empowering the people around us.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most meaningful experiences in my life has been volunteering in the kitchen of a community dining hall, helping people facing homelessness by providing daily meals.

I was also honored to volunteer teaching graphic arts to orphaned children, sharing skills that could inspire and empower them.

There is nothing more fulfilling than giving back and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy sharing my passions, whether it’s graphic design, aviation, gastronomy or hospitality.

What truly inspires me is learning from others. Every story, idea or perspective is welcomed with an open heart and genuine curiosity.

I believe there is a special kind of magic in meaningful conversations, they nourish the soul and create real connection.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you stay with me, I’d be happy to take you cycling around the city, go for a walk, cook and share a meal together, enjoy a picnic (when the season and weather allows), explore nearby towns or simply have a good conversation without rushing.

I value simple moments, presence and genuine exchange.

If this resonates with you, feel free to say Hello 👋 . A coffee, a walk, a shared meal or a picnic (when the season and weather allows) is always a good way to start.

Safe travels, maybe our paths will cross someday. 🙂
