About Me
Hey, I'm Héctor! I'm Puerto Rican born in Indiana. I love culture exchange, and travelling. I'm Puerto Rican born in Indiana. Keepin' it pretty brief. I'm quirky and peppy and an extrovert
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking for cohorts to mingle with in other countries I'm travelling to. I'm planning on becoming an expat soon and I'd like to establish online friendships to serve as encouragement, and have a little extra to look forward to. I will be travelling to get a feel the country as well.
Interests
I love meeting people from different parts, thus culture exchange, and understanding different practices. I like going to art museums and I really try to completely absorb the art. For instance like a painting is visual... Well, what is in the painting, what do you think it smells like, what do you think it would taste like, what do you think it would feel like, using all five sense (imaginarily, cuz you ain't gonna lick the painting) to admire it, rather than just one. It all boils down to fun though I guess... Being entertained, and by trying new things i can know if I like it or not. I steal Andrew Zimmern's quote, try everything twice. Once to make sure if you like it or not and the second to make sure

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is a toughy because I do it as a profession (jingle writer) I'm kinda snooty, i like jazz trio, and classical music mostly from romanticism onward. And on a more pop level, I dig lofi style stuff like Mac de Marco, and Harry styles but don't ask me favorite songs lol
Movies - I love animated stuff, a favorite film is a toughy but if I were trapped on a desert island with a magical palm tree that has a dope ass home theater system and had one movie...
Books - I'm a super non fiction reader, I rarely read fiction (yeah, you can call me boring). Last fiction book I read was memoirs of a Geisha which was okay... This was seven years ago. OH OH wait, Chuck Palahniuk's stuff is cool, the dude who wrote the book Fight Club (yes there's a book) but I'm more of a self help junkie like the Subtle art of not giving a f*ck. I read books about psychology like The Body Keeps the Score, and It didn't start with you.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved to Manhattan on a whim. Just took a leap of faith lived there for five years. Best time of my life up till now. Let's hope we can change that becaause I still got a lot left
Teach, Learn, Share
This is a pretty vague text box. I'm probably gonna reapt this in the bottom on but I have extensive knowledge of writing, recording, mixing, and mastering music and sound. I'm a sound engineer so anything along those lines I'd be happy to teach.
I have a pretty decent knowledge of photoshop but I'm probably a bit rusty.
I speak spanish and english and I've wanted to teach ESL in a foreign country (which is actually why I returned to couch surging to tour other countires to see where I'd like to reside) and I also speak spanish. I have a pretty basic knowledge of italian I took a year in college.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd definitely treat them to any activities. If we dine out or have some drinks or a "coffee" it'll be my treat.
I like to listen a lot so I can definitely share an ear. I love hearing about other people and their lives.
If I'm staying in your place of residence I'll definitely lend my two arms and legs for anything I can help with.
We could both share about each other.
I have extensive knowledge of recording, mixing and mastering music, I do it for a living so I could share any of those things.
Oh I said it above, i speak spanish as well, natively so I can teach that.
And course, my home is always open to fellow Couch surfers. You wouldn't sleep on a couch (I mean... Unless you want to), I have two extra rooms, and I live 15 minutes away from the beach
Oh, I always like bringing souvenirs so I'd definitely bring something from Puerto Rico. Not sure if it's a common tradition but I always like to give something related to my culture
