About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning German,

ABOUT ME

(before writing this whole self-introduction, excuse me for many potential misspelled words, if you find one, let me know!)

hello! my name is heejin(my own name) kang(family).
actually i'm 19 years old as an international age(in korean age, i'm 21!).

i'm kind of guy who is very calm and slow, but also extremely active and laughs a lot! it's hard work to describe me in this short, simple sentence. at least i'm sure that I'm a pleasant and passionate guy.

Now I'm working as a soldier. Cause every boys on korea have to work for our country for certain years. For me, working at the Airforce, It's two- year-work.

I had a really nice travel in 2014 Jan(Western america travel) with nice people whom I met here. Totally knowing that I should invite people here and How's korea like! but as a soldier, I can't do that. I even cannot walk out of the base!!

So, If you're trying to visit Korea and just read my profile, PLEASE let me know.
(My facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/heejin.kang.98) Probably I'll have one mattress(military one! lol). I can recommend some places to go or foods to eat! :)

thank you for reading.

PHILOSOPHY

shortly, my personal philosophy is 'enjoy'. carpe diem is my motto, you know, we got only one lifetime(yolo!) so i want to live my life with many laughs and funs, many friends and.. lovers?
the most important thing in my philosophy is do something new. that i never did! haha

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Cause right through this december to feb, i'll be in western america. i planed to travel CA,AZ,OR,WA,NV.
luckly, i know some people to meet there but i think more is better :) so i like to meet some friend here, get a couch(grounds okay too. lol) and make my travel fun!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

If home-stay(with pay) is counted, then once. when i got short trip to austrailia, i stayed in the house in merlynston, melbourne. though i stayed only 2 weeks but it was good time!
and personaly, i think it's much better than staying at 5 star hotels as a traveler :) truly it's way comfortable but i do not travel for comfortable. i think the point of travel is in experience. make many experiences and memories whether it's good or not. :)(of course i've stayed in many high quality hotels and it was great too!)

Interests

There are plenty of hobbies in my life!
- playing guitar
- listen to music
(i love international pop songs. I'm a huge fan of The beatles too!)
- Reading a book
(I always bring one. whether I read it or not! lol. Novels, peoms, Sience, etc
- Dancing
(It's new hobby. I'm learning Poppin in the air force base!)
- collect some vinyls and cd's
- taking photo with my old DSLR

Music, Movies, and Books

i love all of the movies except horror genre(i HATE something surprise with scary things!). Just one the side or person who likes to watch a nice movies haha.

And music! i love music too! i love english pop, and some k-pop(truly i don't like some k-pop which has no meaning inside the song, only dance and something un-recognizable words.) my favorite is the beatles, oasis and jason mraz. l love korean musician busker busker too! my favorite song is across the universe, two of us, too much rain and some busker busker songs :)

the books, there are plenty of books in my bookshelf. and there are many essay. i also love many fictions. my favorite one is franch writer bernard werber. he usually write with death and human. i'm happy cause i just find that he's new book just come out!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

being a samsung employee is my greatest done for now. it started when i visited austrailia.
i just recive from my home-room teacher that samsung electronics will hire some meister highschool students.
so i wrote my self-introduction at libary.(they even didn't support korean characters!)
through self-introduction, aptitude test and interview, i finally got a job!

Teach, Learn, Share

i think teaching korean is not that effective with short time, and it's boring :( .(unless you know basic korean or you want to!).

i love all of the history(ies?), i can teach basic korean history.

And I'm quite good stroy teller(but i'm not good at english as you see!), so i can talk about what korea is. you can get some culture shock!

ugh... it's too hard to find what i can share or teach... but when it happens, it come from my mind naturally. well.... i believe! lol

What I Can Share with Hosts

In my first couch-surfing-based travel to the USA on Jan, 2014. Of course I had times to travel places! but in some dinnertime or morning. I told my stries about my life or country. And I think It worked quite a bit haha.. lol

To be a nice Couch suring traveler or inviter, I gonna learn how to cook korean dishes from my brother who is cook! Please Count for that! haha!
