About Me

*at the moment we can only accept people for the 6+7 February: both my partner and I (and cat) will be away. We are offering our lovely bright 1 bedroom for either or both nights in exchange for some light housekeeping, (which should take 1.5 hours absolute max), as we are between Airbnb guests on that night. You will need to change the sheets + towels, make sure there's toilet roll, water the plants, maybe do some very light cleaning if there's anything that's obviously dirty, put away washing up. If you are happy to do that, you are welcome to stay for the night / two nights - you should have the place from 10am on 6th to early afternoon 8th. Please only message if you're definitely happy to do the above! You'll be able to cook and use the washing machine - as long as you think your items will dry in time. We'll be on hand to explain better / send you details in advance so it should be very straightfoward. Up to three guests are welcome to stay for those two nights.*

I'm Heidi - I'm currently living in South London with my partner Oli. I work as a gardener and support worker and Oli as a poet and playwright. I'm new to couchsurfing but Oli had some lovely experiences couchsurfing. I also had some sweet experiences of people letting me stay at their houses while hitchhiking in Patagonia, so we want to return the favour!

We have a lil cat, Daisy, so ideally anyone we host will like cats. Our flat has one bedroom so you'd be on the couch or airbed, but we think it's cute and hope you'll feel at home here :)

We are vegan and would love to share meals with you; the only thing we ask is that you don't bring meat/fish into the house.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We want to be able to help others in our own small way and exchange experiences. It also feels like a little piece of resistance in a world where all exchanges are monetised (cough, Airbnb) - to recognise the value of an experience where there's no financial gain or anything expected in return, to be open to the world and to resist the thickening walls society has erected between each of us in this neoliberal dystopia... but mostly it's a beautiful way to share with others and hopefully have some great times & conversations.

Teach, Learn, Share

Come with me to my local community garden on Sunday? (foraged lunch, always good conversations & the small beauty of a permaculture garden)

I would love to learn languages, particularly Russian and Italian, or to speak Spanish or Portuguese with you!

We can cook together or share meals and most importantly you can share treats w Daisy, our senior Norwegian forest cat :o
