Hello!
My name is Heidi and I will be traveling with my boyfriend, Collin, in a couple of months. Collin and I just graduated from Oregon State University and we wanted to travel for a few months before starting graduate school or working. I majored in marine biology and Collin majored in public health - human development.
I moved around a lot as a kid and I used to live in Europe from the age 3 to 9 years old. Therefore, I was introduced to traveling at a very young age. Collin on the other hand was born and raised in Oregon and has little travel experience. This will be Collin's second time out of the country, but his first time was to Thailand in August 2015.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hotels are so impersonal and my boyfriend and I really want to get the best experience while we are in Europe. What better way to travel than to stay with the locals and get to know new people around the world. We want to be able to experience Europe in the way it is meant to be experienced. We want to get to know the people who live in these different countries. We are young and life is too short!

Interests

Obviously I love to travel! My boyfriend and I love to hike and explore new areas, and it would be awesome to go on a few hikes and explore the area. I really love animals and my boyfriend and I have two dogs, which we take on hikes pretty regularly. Collin is really good at working on computers and loves to help out.
I majored in marine biology at Oregon State University and I am really interested marine renewable energy. I am really interested in how ocean energy devices will affect the surrounding marine community.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am pretty nerdy and my favorite book series is Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. I really enjoy to read, though I have not a lot of free time to do so. I enjoy most movies, though the nerdier the better. I really like to watch Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Miyazaki films, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. Pretty much if it is nerdy, I like it.

In regards to music, I really like The Killers, Foster the People, Muse, Mumford and Sons, and so much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most recent thing that I did that I think is amazing just happened in April 2016. My boyfriend and I went to the College of Wizardry in Poland where we pretended to be wizards for the weekend in a castle with 150 other people. We laughed, we cried, we fought demons and werewolves. I was the lead of an evil organization and Collin discovered interesting secrets of the castle. I would definitely do it again, and hopefully I will be in November!

I can help cook and clean around the house. I can teach you English and how to make friendship bracelets. Collin is really good with computers, so if you have a computer problem he is your guy! Collin can also teach you sign language!
