Overview
About Me
I (Heidi) grew up in the USA, Paul, my husband, grew up in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia), Africa. We are both adventurous, easy going, and love to meet new people!
I work in a distillery, Paul is an engineer in the Physics Department at a local university. We live in Longmont, CO just about 20 minutes outside of Boulder, 40 minutes outside of Denver.
English is my mother tongue, and I speak intermediate Russian. Paul speaks English, enough Spanish to get us in trouble, and a bit of French.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We LOVE to travel, and invariably, it seems the highlights of our travels have been the people we have met along the way. We also love to meet people who are traveling, and while we have a small home, we are happy to welcome fellow explorers to spend a day or two with us. (What we wish to avoid is people moving to our area, and looking to live with us for a few months, or wanting to rent a room room us for a while. We have a small home, and enjoy our privacy, and often have friends or family visiting, so longer than a couple of days just does not work so well.)
Interests
(Heidi) Art, language, history, traveling, talking, reading, museums, local culture, cooking, gardening, gluten-free cooking, sharing a meal with good company, good food, good spirits, indie/foreign films, music, road trips, train travel, pod casts, Eastern European anything... (Paul) All of the above + flying, motorcycle adventures, engineering science.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How can I choose just one!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'mokay with computers. I love to learn about local cuisine, and really enjoy cooking! I have a gluten allergy, so I can cook sans-gluten for those who can't eat it, and do a pretty good job of not having anyone notice anything is any different! In the summer we can share our organic garden veggies! I also have a few out-of-this-world home made ice cream recipes, and more often than not, I have some whiskey samples from the Distillery I (Heidi) work at. My husband Paul is a bit of a Renaissance man, most likely, if it's broken, he can figure out how to fix it, and he's up for a tour or visit to the CU campus.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can share our home, dinner/cooking, garden veggies in the summer, BBQ, a glass of wine, friends for dinner, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, Travel stories, gluten free food, a comfy place to rest, off street parking, a full bookshelf, the occasional foreign film, and hopefully some laughter along the way...
