ABOUT ME

We're a couple of friends that came all the way from Mexico to Spain to study a Master's Degree. On our vacations we would like to visit some other European countries, it's a plan we have had since our arrival. We're both very excited to have this chance. And also we like to meet new people, and more if it's from another country, get to know their culture their habits and their city.

About me (Santiago): I am a really good listener, and also a funny one, so I always like to chat with someone, and that chat will always be a good and fun one. I like reading, watching movies, playing videogames, and overall indoor activities, but I also like sports and visit new places. I like having a fun good time.

About me (Heidi): I talk a lot!!, I'm very interested in meet new people and get to know you in order to be friends, I would be happy just with a cup of coffe while chatting with you. I try to work hard for my objectives, and I won't give up until I complete them. I likes reading and watching movies. Travelling in the world had been one of my dreams since forever.

Many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then may seem improbable, and then when we are strongly committed, become inevitable. :)

-Santiago-
I believe that we must put our efforts in helping the people that need it and make this a better world, or at least make my friends happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Back in Mérida me (Heidi) and my family had hosted some of people, and me (Santiago) always stick around being some kind of tourist guide, we're very good friends so everytime a CS comes place I come visit too so we can have a good time. We have visited with CS mayan ruins, mayan cenotes, Mérida downtown, Mérida regional parties, and some other very traditional stuff you could only find in our country, like the unmatched yucatan cuisine. We always try to learn one thing or two of the language of our CS, as well as teaching some mayan words that only could be heard in our city. Overall I think we are both a combination of a funny and very talkative host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have shown around some CS our country. We have gone to mayan ruins, mayan cenotes, we have gone to the beach, to Cancún and Chichen Itza, we have had fun in a Mexican Night, and even had the chance to invite some CS to a birthday party and a new year's eve party. The most funny experiences is when we show the CS some yucatecan food, they always love it but at the same time they don't really know what they're eating so it gets confusing and hillarious. Most of all we really appreciate talking and learning about the different cultures. We have learned a bit of Japanese, we have eaten finnish candies, we have learned that in soviet russia not everything is the opposite (but some things are), we have learned some croatian magic tricks, we have danced latin salsa with chinese and english girls, but most of all, we have made good friends from all around the world.

Interests

We like technology!! It's one of our main interest, and the reason we are now studying a master's degree. We also like movies, books, comicbooks, food&drinks, boardgames, videogames, chatting and knowing new people, make friends, and have a good time.

Music, Movies, and Books

-Heidi-
Movies .... I love the romantic comedy, the biographical, thriller, I'm a full movie maniac. Music .... of all kinds, pop, instrumental, rock, depends 100% of my mood. Books ..... read everything, I love to read, I don't leave a book until I finish it, the police and romantic novels (not the twilight kind) are my weakness.

-Santiago-
Movies: I like a lot of movies, particulary those of action or comedy. I also like suspense or thriller, but I don't like horror movies, they don't really catch my eye. I like both silly and serious movies, as long as the plot keeps interesting or the ending isn't too obvious; that's why movies with a very good plot twist are always my favorite. Not strange ones like the recent work of M. Night Shyamalan, but more of the kind of the illusionist or inception.
Music: Any kind! The more you can dance it the better.
Books: I like reading but I haven't done it in a long time. My main interest are fantasy novels, such as Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Narnia, but I also enjoy scifi, historical, and classic novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every summer we travel together with our families all over Mexico. It has influenced a lot in us and taught us that we would like to travel all around the world. If you want to come to Mexico some day, we would be pleased to answer all your questions :D

Teach, Learn, Share

-Heidi-
I'm graphic designer and I love tech, so I can teach or talk a lot about that. I can show you how to cook mexican food, I love to dance salsa, merengue and all the latin sytles. I would love to learn more about other sites and parts of the world. I want to know everything!

-Santiago-
I know a lot about programming, so there is that. I can also teach you spanish or even mayan words, and more about mexican or yucatecan culture. I hope learning more about your culture and your language.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Spanish? Cooking? Learning to dance latin music? Mexican Jokes? Whatever you want to know, we will try our best to answer it!
