About Me

ABOUT ME

Hei! So you want to see the northern lights or the midnight sun, do you! Well, Tromsø is a good place to start then, but be aware that the aurora might not show up and we do have cloudy skies here as well, so you should also plan for some not-weather-related activities, just to make sure your trip wont be all for nothing. Tromsø has lots more to offer- just come and you will see!

Some info about me; Im 33 and quite happy to grow older. The alternative is rather bad.... I have travelled a bit, but for the time beeing, I have to stay in Tromsø for work related reasons. I want to travel more and perhaps live in other places, but for now I have to bring the world to me, and couchsurfing is a great way of doing exactly that.

Words people have used to describe me are
curious, outgoing, enthusiastic, honest, livsnyter, straight forward, kind, confident, independent.

Very sensitive people can find me a bit rude. Dont get me wrong, I dont treat people in a bad way, but I wont hesitate to tell you, if I think you are being a jerk. I want to open my home to you and show you what life in Tromsø is like for me and my friends. I expect you will treat my friends, the environment here and myself with respect.

I live in the very center of Tromsø city, close to almost everything...
If I have time, I will be happy to show you around and bring you along in my everyday adventures in Tromsø. I like going to different cultural events, like concerts, plays, movies etc. and you can often find me chatting with friends and strangers in a local bar or café. I love sharing funny or serious matters over some beer, wine or coffee. If you want to bring me something, wine or coffee will always be appreciated.

Because my apartment is located in the city center, you will easily be able to see Tromsø and the closest surroundings, either by foot or the local busses. Beware though, everything is expensive in Norway, including public transportation.

I would like for us to spend some time together, share a meal and some wine perhaps or go out for dinner or some event. This basically means you should have some money to spend. Norway is exspensive. Thats how it is, and if we are to spend time together outside my apartment, money, unfortunately, is a necessity. That said, you are of course welcome to bring some food and other stuff you need to keep your budget within the acceptable. I will make room in the fridge.

I work shifts, so any day or night can work for hosting. Sometimes Im quite busy though, in that case, I will let you know this before you come, so you will be aware that I wont be around much. Send me an email or a request, and Im sure we will work something out.

PHILOSOPHY

The greatest danger is not evil people, but the silence of good people.

Don`t think twice- it`s allright.

We are all ignorant, but in different areas.

Therapy is beeing with others.

There`s a crack in everything-
thats how the light gets in.

I never worry when I get lost, i just change where I want to go.

A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to lots of different music and I love to hear music live, at conserts, festivals or in someones livingroom. Some of my all time favourites are;

Led Zeppelin
Bob Dylan
Goran Bregovic
Amy Winehouse
Cornelis Vreeswijk
Gluecifer

I also like folk music, norwegian as well as world music. I dont play an instrument myself, but I like to sing and I have a guitar available for those who want to play.

I like to read and I watch a lot of movies. I dont have television in my home, but I use the web alot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I do and see amazing things everyday, in my work, on my way here and there and on my way back again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you where to get Tromsøs cheapest beer, where to go for the best conserts and of course, where not to go, in Tromsø. I can teach you norwegian. I can show you how to make knekkebrød. I resently learned how to make tyrkish coffee, a skill that has emproved my quality of life considerably, and will be happy to pay it forward.

I would love to practise my spanish and learn more. I think languages, in general, are very interesting.

Also, I want to become a better photographer, and if you can show me some tricks with my Canon 350D, I would really appreciate it.
