Overview
About Me
I currently live in Tartu, Estonia where I am doing my MA in International Relations (focusing on Turkish foreign policy). I like to keep myself busy volunteering and doing things in various organizations. I have my own small NGO with what I am trying to improve the situation of disadvantaged youth in Estonia and I have been doing voluntary work before in Romania, Ukraine and Albania (teaching different things to the local youth). A few years ago I was also on Erasmus exchange in Ankara, Turkey. I love to travel by living abroad and actually doing something useful there.
I like all sorts of nerdy things from board games to spending hours reading random Wikipedia pages to discussing about different world issues. As I study international relations, I am interested in international politics and what the local people actually think about the political situation in their country. Following elections is like following sports for me!
I like going to pubs where one can have random discussions about all sorts of topics from the most insignificant to the meaning of life. I am really not into going to clubs or other places where people really can not talk.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on couchsurfing because it seems like an excellent way how to meet interesting people who can teach me about their culture and tell me things about their city a travel guide couldn’t.
I haven’t really used couchsurfing before as a host or a guest. I have participated on a few counchsurfing events though and hosted people at my place who I have met online through different sources.
Interests
I like to play board games, a lot. I am mostly into those strategic games that take around 7 hours to finish (like Diplomacy or Virgin Queen), but also to more casual ones. I used to compete in chess when I was in high school and go to a bridge club.
I love to listen to international music. I am a big fan of Eurovision and I rather often end up listening to music in Swahili or Bengali. Not a big fan of generic radio pop.
Politics and international relations - I am interested to hear about the opinion of others and I usually follow elections of several countries.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I am into semi artsy international movies - my current favourite being Relatos salvajes. From the mainstream movies, Lord of the Rings triology would be my favourite.
Music: Any weird musical combination. Folk and dubstep together? Awesome. Metal and rap? Of course. Choral music together with rock? Sounds good to me. Bonus points for being in a language other than English.
Books: Fantasy - Harry Potter, A Song of Ice and Fire and that kind of things.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived together with 14 international people in a 4 bedroom house for 2 months without anyone killing others.
I started my very own NGO.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach people the basics of what is going on in international relations (for example in the Middle East) and impress them with my Eurovision knowledge. I am always up for sharing awesome bands and singers as well as learning about the local music scene.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My life experience, interesting conversations and a lot of random trivia facts.
