ABOUT ME

I love to be outdoors and enjoy things like hiking, camping and playing in the water. When I say hiking I am not one of those people that will run up the side of a mountain, I like to take it easy and enjoy the hike. I have been camping in many different places in many different ways whether it is tent camping, camping in my car, throwing a sleeping bag on the ground, camping in a cabin or any other camping I am not thinking of right now I probably have done it and some point.

I am a huge fan of disc golf and have been playing for over 15 years. I will bring my discs on trips just in case I come across a course I can play. After all these years of playing you would think I would have gotten a lot better but I still am just average but lately have picked up some better throwing tips.

I love music and enjoy going to concerts whenever they are around. I have a ever growing vinyl collection and really can never get enough of that. Some of my favorite bands are Ray Lamontagne, The Black Keys, Donavon Frankenreiter, Yonder Mountain String Band and the Avett Brothers

PHILOSOPHY

if you are not happy with your life do something to change it, it is up to you and no one else. You are in total control of your life and the things around you. I did not want to live in Iowa anymore so I moved to Vermont with only a backpack, I didn't know anyone here but knew I didn't want to be in Iowa anymore.

I live my life one day at a time but look to the future as well to see what might be out there for me because I don't want to miss anything either.

I also believe in Karma, do onto others...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am still new to couchsurfing but just returned from my first trip where I couch surfed on most of it and it was one of the best experiences. I met some great people on my trip and this makes me feel even more comfortable in opening my home up to people here in Burlington. I hope to continue building on my experiences and on the community this is a great community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I traveled out to the west coast and was only carrying a backpack with tent and sleeping bag. I only had a general idea of where i was going the rest was up to the road and where others where willing to take me. So I got a ride to Colorado with a friend who let me stay at their place when I got there and then from there I was hitchhiking, camping and couchsurfing for about 2 months. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked into and camped in the Grand Canyon and then back out the next day. One of the best experiences of my life. Would like to raft the Colorado River and then hike back out of the canyon again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have seen most of the U.S. and done many different things on the road, I believe my experience is something that I can share. I would like to learn more about traveling internationally, I have only been to Mexico and England so I would like to do more traveling overseas.
