About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To push my limits
ABOUT ME
I am originally from Myanmar (ethnically 75% Chinese and 25% Burmese). I am a university student at Bucknell, Lewisburg, PA. My majors are Civil Engineering and Comparative Humanities. Because of my two majors, I have to stay at Bucknell for five years. And this is my fifth year! One more semester before I graduate!!
When I was in Yangon (Burma), I didn't travel much outside of the country. Life has been very interesting since I started my university. Lots of paradigm shifts - and sometimes back and forth. In the Spring of 2012, I had a chance to study abroad at the University of Nottingham as a Civil Engineering exchange student. Right now, I am in Hong Kong, again as an exchange student, and learning Chinese language (Mandarin) and cultures.
PHILOSOPHY
Pushing my own limits!
The most offensive thing one could do to those who care about you is not remembering them. For a person like me whose life has been segmented (by virtue? of living in different parts of the world in the past four years), the act of remembering becomes an active process.
"If memories could be canned, would they also have expiry dates? If so, I hope they last for centuries." Chungking Express | Wong Kar-wai
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first participated in couchsurfing as a surfer when I visited Oxford.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing has been a great experience. It's very interesting to see a glimpse of people's lives and their ways of living. And (perhaps because of the short duration of the stay), both parties show the best of their personality and their greatest of their humanity.

And some quotes:
"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." (Rumi)
"Life is not about finding answers. It is about creating yourself." (Bernard Shaw)
"Some failure in life is inevitable. It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all â in which case, you fail by default." (J. K. Rowling)
"Deep down inside you are a monster.... But you are MY little monster." (Eric Cartman from South Park, Jersey Shore episode)
"Don't cry because it's over smile because it happened" (Dr. Seuss)
"Most people are nice when you finally see them." (Atticus; Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird)
"We need people who, if they have privileges - material, social, mental, physical - feel uncomfortable unless these privileges and powers are harnessed to use for others. A good education is a debt that can be repaid only by the gift of self." - Johnson, 1988
"This is my right; it is the right of every human being. I choose not the suffocating anesthetic of the suburbs, but the violent jolt of the Capital, that is my choice. The meanest patient, yes, even the very lowest is allowed some say in the matter of her own prescription. Thereby she defines her humanity." - Virginia Woolf in The Hours
"You cannot find peace by avoiding life." - Virgina Woolf
"Someone has to die in order that the rest of us should value life more. It's contrast." - Virgina Woolf in The Hours
"You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.â (Friedrich Nietzsche)
âRealism ... falls short of reality. It shrinks it, attenuates it, falsifies it; it does not take into account our basic truths and our fundamental obsessions: love, death, astonishment. It presents man in a reduced and estranged perspective. Truth is in our dreams, in the imagination.â (Eugene Ionesco)
"To say 'I love you' one must know first how to say the 'I'." (Foundation Head, Ayn Rand)
"The heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing." (Blaise Pascal)
"To live a responsible life is to live a life committed to self-awareness."
"There is nothing sacred about violence and hatred!"
