About Me

well, I am originally from Germany, but I started couchsurfing New York City and soon after that ended up living here, meeting my wonderful, amazing, and beautiful wife Joy (a native New Yorker)- and being a full time Brooklyner for about 5 years now!!!

and, Joy and I are getting ready for another Europe exploration this year and are looking forward to meeting lots of nice people!!! and YOU!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

right now I am just able to meet up with other surfers and show them around in my lovely neighborhood, or in New York City in general...but one day (having a bigger apartment!!!) I will give back to the community and HOST, HOST, HOST...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met many of the most friendly, generous and wonderful people via Couchsurfing...most of them I REALLY became friends with and, I am still in touch with them - yay!!!

Interests

playing shows - writing songs - going to shows - dancing - theater...

exploring the forgotten or abandoned places in and around New York on my bike with one of my cameras handy to take some great pictures

meeting with friends - enjoying nature and, of course, TRAVELING!

  • writing
  • theater
  • dancing
  • traveling
  • cycling

Music, Movies, and Books

miles davis, radiohead, elliott smith, chris whitley,...

I'm a real "thomas pynchon" fan - read all his books, also: lawrence durell, david leavitt, william blake...

there are just too many great movies to name them all...but, I am definitely a Aki Kaurismaki buff, followed by Jim Jarmush and perhaps, Wim Wenders

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

there's been a lightning crushing 20 feet ahead of me into the ground - it's been a shock and I'm still happy to be undamaged and alive!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

well, I can teach you some german slang (or other helpful vocab)

I am always excited to learn from and being exposed to other cultures
