I live in rural Nelson County, Virginia, on a 530 acre farm owned cooperatively as Shannon Farm Community. Others on the farm are couchsurfers but I am new. Our community has some guest/host policies which have some mild impact on how people can visit. I work for a social service agency in Charlottesville, Virginia, about 35 minutes from home. I am a beekeeper so any potential guest should be aware there are bees living (and coming and going) during all daylight hours near my home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like more opportunities for informal regional travel. I love to camp but there are times when a 'travel through' visit to a city makes a night on a couch more inviting. I dislike most hotel settings as they are so isolated from the outdoors.
