Overview
About Me
I have been teaching yoga since 2007 and recently finished graduate school in Chicago focusing on Film, Performance and Installation. I spent my undergrad studies in Hawaii and studied dance and theatre. My parents immigrated from South Korea to Chicago in the mid 1970's. I love reading, animals and traveling.
Some of my favorite passages:
“Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things: air, sleep, dreams, sea, the sky. If you wish to travel far and fast, take off all your envies, jealousies, selfishness and fears.” (Ceasare Pavese)
"Presence is not some exotic state that we need to search for or manufacture. In the simplest terms, it is the felt sense of wakefulness, openness, and tenderness that arises when we are fully here and now with our experience. We are born with a beautiful open spirit, alive with innocence and resilience. But we bring this goodness into a difficult world." - Tara Brach
Now and again, it is necessary to seclude yourself among deep mountains and hidden valleys to restore your link to the source of life. Breathe in and let yourself soar to the ends of the universe; breathe out and bring the cosmos back inside. Next, breathe up all fecundity and vibrancy of the earth. Finally, blend the breath of heaven and the breath of earth with your own, becoming the Breath of Life itself. - Morihei Ueshiba
