Overview
About Me
I am a 54yr old IT professional who has taken 18 months off work to travel the world whilst still fit enough to do so. I've visited Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, New Zealand, Cambodia and Vietnam. In addition I've spent 3 months in the US travelling through Florida, Lousiana, Tennessee, South and North Carolina, California, Nevada and Utah . We did a combination of camping and Couchsurfing which was really great.
I am fairly quiet, interested in culture, history and open spaces. I am happy to hang out and also respect your privacy and space.
It would be a privilege to stay with you and share fun and experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the concept of Couchsurfing, to experience different places through real people rather than a tourist glaze.
I surfed in the US in Memphis, Miami, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Meeting local people enriched our holiday experience, it is a great privilege to be welcomed into someone's home, to share a meal and life experiences. I would recommend it to anyone.
I look forward to the opportunity of hosting once I have evicted my 25yr old son from our spare room 🤣
Interests
I worked in IT all my life, it pays well but I'm not motivated by money. I enjoy a treat but largely I want to explore a simpler life. I want to travel, look at volunteering, experience people and different cultures. Give something back.
I am religious but not a crack pot. I have experienced churches all over the world. Most recently A.L Young's full gospel tabernacle in Memphis. It's all about experience and having your heart and eyes open.
I love the open spaces, the sunshine on my back, I love the sea and rocky coast lines, I love this planet's natural beauty but mostly it's mountains, lakes in mountains are a bonus.
