About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to make the most out of my short time on this planet and see a sunset from every place imaginable.

ABOUT ME

How on earth am I supposed to fill this? I guess I can say I'm open minded and always looking to try new things, but then again, who isn't?

PHILOSOPHY

life is too short to fret about the small things - rather, enjoy and relish them because that's what makes life interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am relatively new to this community, so have little experience. Am currently surfing (being a student abroad), but definitely going to participate in meetings and events, and host to give back when I am home in Montreal.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very new myself, but have accompanied friends with great surfers!

Interests

Too many to list here (thank goodness there isn't a word count).

1. Going on random adventures with wonderful people to rarely explored places about sums it up. Have nothing to do during the day? Great, lets go take a walk or a bike ride to a park or a part of the city we haven't been to before.
2. Cooking, food, and anything related to cooking and food. Its an addiction really, but one of my goals is to eat my way through the world (of course, noting health, keeping things in moderation, etc. etc.).
3. Languages - I have three down, but it is one of my life goals to speak as many as possible (I met someone the other day who spoke 13....fluently.... what am I doing with my life!). I love polyglot clubs, because its just a collection of wonderful people to want to exchange and talk.
4. Trying new things - sounds cliche, but what is life without challenging yourself and getting a bit outside of your comfort zone once in a while? These past few months I started taking tango lessons for the first time in my life. Learned that I have two left feet, but had lots of fun in the process! Next, maybe some martial arts?
5. Nature. Its surprising how much I realized I missed it until I couldn't easily access it anymore living in a big city like Paris. Hiking, camping, biking, swimming, ANYTHING really. Just throw on some sunscreen and bug spray and I'm good to go.
6. of course, travelling. but not so much touristing (although that is a large part of travelling). I'm not quite a fan of going to famous places, snapping pictures, and moving on. Rather, its much more better to stay within a certain place for a while and see if its possible to truly experience what its like to live there. Time constraints are the bane of my existence.

Music, Movies, and Books

My mind is overloaded with the possibilities I can put down here! Let me just put the latest that struck a chord.

Movie: "Paris je t'aime" (I know, cliche, but fitting my situation)

Music: "Galway Girl" - went to Ireland recently, and its the first time I heard live music in months, and this song followed us everywhere we went. A good tune for good times.

Book: interesting read: Paved with Good Intentions (talking about the involvement of Canadian NGOs and their actual impact on local communities - very interesting for anyone looking for another perspective on humanitarian/development work).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed some pretty high places and seen some wonderful sunsets/sunrises - I guess Kilimanjaro is a good place to start, but there's so much more!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook up some mean Chinese food, or some card games, or some Canadian delicacies (aka poutine ;) ).

I would love to learn about anything and everything. Surprise me.

I will share my heart (so cheesy), and some experiences /funny stories from my short time here on earth.

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland, Tanzania, United States
