About Me

Hei!

I am a Finnish French girl, I am happy, easygoing, positive and responsible and I love to travel and explore new countries and cities.
I study French and Spanish in Helsinki, and I just finished my year-long Erasmus exchange year in Toulouse, France. At the moment I can't host myself as my situation does not allow it, but I'm all the while grateful to people who can host couchsurfers and are so openminded and welcoming!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is really an original way to get into a new culture and meet new and fantastic people! Meeting local people allows me to see the real side of any country and although I like the touristy stuff too, it's more interesting to hear what the locals like to do, what they appreciate and would like to share in their city and country.

At the moment I am more on the travelling side of Couchsurfing, but when I will stay somewhere (probably in Finland) for a longer period of time, I will want to host!

Interests

Well, basically I'm very open to all kinds of interests, but what I like to do for example in my hometown is to be with friends, family, actually to enjoy every free time I have from studying and working. I love to stay home and watch movies or read but I also like to go out and go dancing, having drinks and be around people.

My studying is involved around languages so of course I'm very interested in different languages, I like to see the similarities and the diffrencies any language has compared to the latin based languages as French and Spanish (which I'm studying now) and I also like to compare them with Finnish as it's such a unique language in Europe. Honestly, I don't know /recognise a lot of languages outside the European language base but I would very much like to learn some a bit or hear opinions from people who do speak them (asian, african, you name it).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, pop, rock, alternative, blues, latino etc. My favorite artists at the moment are Florence+The Machine, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Clean Bandit, Romeo Santos, Disclosure, Kygo, Birdy, but I do listen to a lot of others. My motto is more of "don't judge, listen first and then like it or don't" !

I am an everything goes kind of girl considering movies EXCEPT horror movies! They bring me nightmares haha ! I love animated pictures from Disney and Pixar (yes, they are now the same, but still) and I like watching different kinds of movies depending on my mood, drama, comedy, (thrillers occasionally), romance, action, etc.

Books! When I was younger I read so many books that I lost count ! Of course, now, with my studies and reading studybooks I've become lazier, but I do like a good book once in a while for example fantasy, drama and short-stories. For instance, at the moment I'm reading The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's hard to specify one amazing thing I've done, but if I have to name something concerning travelling for example, I have done a two-week Interrail with three friends in Europe which was pretty awesome, we went to Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Luxembourg, Brussels ,Paris, Nîmes and Milano.

But of course I have to mention my Erasmus year (2014-15) in Toulouse which was such an amazing experience that my heart still yearns to go back !

My most mind-blowing experience is now happening as I'm on an almost round-the-world trip with a friend of mine !

Teach, Learn, Share

I can try and teach Finnish for people interested, but also French and maybe Spanish if anyone wants to!

I'm eager to learn whatever I can, so I will not specify anything specific!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share all my knowledge I have acquired till now, help out cleaning, cooking, if there are children I can help looking out for them when available (allthough if I'm travelling I would more like to visit the city together with the host('s family).
