About Me

hey dear people out there! i'm helena and i finally found my new home, here in vienna, austria - this nice, cozy & beloved city. i am a friendly, interested, open-minded and hearty person. Mostly peaceful and happy, not very demanding, not challenging, not judging. i like to be surprised by the little things of this beautiful life and i am almost every day :) i'm taking myself not too serious and try to experience as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

as i like to travel i like to meet people, to learn from them and their ways of living. i especially like to meet uncomplicated, tolerant and warm people who don't judge other people for what they do or like. and i think - and have never been disappointed so far :) - that couchsurfing is a platform where a lot of people like that come together to get to know each other.

Interests

i love to cook (veggie only), eating and ejoying it is an important part of my daily life... for that experiencing new food in different places, being inspired by different people can be claimed to be one of my biggest interests. i like to travel - by bike, train, feet... i like every style of music, i read books, i watch movies, i go to bars, to concerts, to dance. sometimes i paint and i like art in general. i practice yoga and try to meditate. I care about nature. Love itself.

Music, Movies, and Books

tricky, tricky.
books - i like kundera and i can highly recommend thomas hettche - "pfaueninsel" for those of you wanting to get lost in a very unusual, beautifully written historical and exotic love-fairy-tale.
at the moment i listen to easter - thanks to a dear friend - and to king krule, devendra banhart, bombino, amadou et mariam (best traveller soundtrack) and konrad küchenmeister
watch pride (great movie about the movement "lesbians and gays support the miners" during the 80ies -> fabulous music!) and only lovers left alive!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Starting to meditate.

Teach, Learn, Share

i heard this months ago in a radio show and i sadly cannot remember who said these brilliant words. but i like them, so:
"what should we fight about? - only about love.
what should we do in life? - hosting our guests in the most friendly way.
(what should we know? - how to prepare omlette.")

What I Can Share with Hosts

at the moment i'm still in a moving situation, but i work on it. hope to can offer you soon a hammock at least. and a very nice freshly brewed coffee. and really good porridge and ... omlette.
