Hej! My name is Helena and I’m a German girl living in Sweden. What was just supposed to be an Erasmus semester 4,5 years ago became finding a new home. I found a community in Sweden, learned the language and found a job which fulfills me. I think that describes a lot how I go through life. Trying to follow the flow in life, always reflecting on what I can learn next, reflecting on which people I want to surround myself with and thinking about how I live my daily life because that's how we live our lives right?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

How are you spending your daily life wherever you live? How are you celebrating and sharing your life with others? How has culture influenced you?

I´m super curious in getting to know new people through couchsurfing (this wonderful open bubble!) and to get to know new places through your eyes. Is there a better and more authentic way of getting to know new places and people?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18 I spent 2 months in an ecumenical monastery in France, called Taizé. Volunteering there with lots of other young people from around the world changed me a lot.

Have already surfed on couches (not through Couchsurfing but through other programmes) in Lebanon, Ukraine, Latvia, Poland, Italy,...

Next project: travelling to Tbilisi, Georgia by train.
