About Me

I've been living in Melbourne for the last 3 years now (love it here!), spent 4 years in London before that, and another year travelling around New Zealand. I'm originally from Germany, though don't "feel" very German. I enjoy exploring the world and living somewhere for a while to really get a feel for the country/culture/city. Even when I'm travelling I love to experience the place from a local's point of view, discovering hidden cafes, bars, shops etc. It's much more important to me to truly experience a place than to tick sightseeing boxes off my list.

My background is in documentary photography/photojournalism, though I've done a lot of things since graduating from uni a few years ago. I've started a few businesses, and still love exploring new avenues. Working as a freelance photographer (primarily shooting food, interiors, people and travel) has always been my way of making money, and a great way to meet new people - but life is about so much more than what we do for a job.

I absolutely love food, enjoy cooking (I'm vegetarian), making time for exercise and staying healthy, paying attention to my body's needs and generally have a big interest in food and health.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met many amazing people through Couchsurfing when I first joined years ago, and believe in the sharing economy - trading whatever we can, helping each other out whenever possible.
It's a great way to meet likeminded and interesting people, learn, and grow as a person. I am an open-minded person, and Couchsurfing can help grow that openmindedness for sure.

Interests

I like giving things a go - whether that's travelling and visiting a new country, starting a new business, or trying a new cuisine.
I love meeting new people and hearing their stories, there's always something to be learned. I naturally encourage people to live their life on their own terms and go after what they want.

I'm a mindful person, try to meditate regularly, and am always looking to learn and grow. I'm a happy and positive person and love living in the moment.
