About Me

After 20 months of pedaling with our bicycles and meeting wonderful people from Spain to Pakistan, we now live in the Pyrenees. We want to open the doors of our home to nature-loving travelers, whether to explore the nearby natural parks or to rest after a long journey.

About us:
Adrián, my partner, works as a mountain guide and travels a lot for work, so he's not home most of the time. When we are together at home, we usually need that time for ourselves and to go out exploring. I, Helena, work from home, focusing on emotional coaching and writing. Sometimes I go in search of Adrián for mountain adventures or work on my computer while he's out in the mountains, and other times I travel alone to different places.

I'm here to welcome you with open arms, show you our surroundings, and offer you a warm home with Spanish food. I understand how exhausting traveling can be, so don't worry, I understand that sometimes you need a space to rest and sleep.

I don't speak English fluently, but I can engage in deep conversations about life, travel, and our interests, which gives me the opportunity to practice more. In our home, you'll always find a welcoming atmosphere and an open heart, and I love learning from the travelers who visit us.

We've hosted many travelers we met outside of this app, and now I want to especially welcome female travelers looking for a safe and cozy place.

However, if you're a man passing through here, feel free to reach out as well! My priority is creating a safe environment and being available for women, especially because I understand the additional challenges faced by women traveling alone. This doesn't mean men aren't welcome.

At some point, I'd also like to explore other places and be welcomed elsewhere, but for now, my main goal is to host travelers here at home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is fascinating because it allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture, discover unique spots off the tourist trail, and meet people from all over the world. It offers an authentic experience by sharing with local hosts who provide a real perspective of the place. Additionally, it's an economical option that makes traveling flexible and enriching. That's why I want to offer my home as well, as it keeps me connected to the journey and makes me feel like I'm giving back some of the love I've received during two years of traveling by bicycle.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have some favorite books like those written by a somewhat punk-like nun who talks about love, freedom, growth, and feminism. Joan Cittisther. But in general, I like books on neuroscience, spirituality, anthropology, and those on photography or art. I love music, reggae, ethnic, folk—anything that sounds genuine and is made with heart.

I have to say that even though I listen to and read very dense things, I'm a pretty ordinary, normal, sociable woman who enjoys life but with a lot of curiosity to learn

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled by bicycle for two years, I have lived in a castle and...

Teach, Learn, Share

The best of travelling is always learn about the other cultures and share with local people. I can show you special places, typical riverside bars, mountain routes, and typical local (or Indian, where I lived for a while) cuisine: And when I travel, I enjoy being able to cook something typical from my country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Tranquility and respect for their space.
Engaging conversations on various topics.
Maintaining order and cleanliness during my stay.
Cooking a delicious Spanish or Indian dish to share.
Sharing cultural experiences and insights from my travels.
Assisting with household chores or projects as needed.
Flexibility and adaptability to fit into their routines and needs.
Being a pleasant and respectful companion during my time with them.
