About Me
Follow my adventures on Instagram (@h_maille) or on my blog at www.unentredeux.com (in French only).
Hi! :)
I'm Helene, a 23 years old student and blogger based both in Sherbrooke and Montreal, Canada. Since I also have the French nationality, I've been lucky enough to see some wonderful places. Though, I still have some (I mean ''a lot'') of trips on my bucket list.
I'm a passionate and devoted person, looking to meet people from different cultures and create strong relationships around the world. Basically, I'm a citizen of the world.
Next stop: who knows?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Though I am a bit shy at first, I think couchsurfing is the greatest way to meet people. When I travel, I try to avoid touristic places and usually, I don't meet locals in hostel. You know, my goal is not to come back perfectly tanned or with hundreds of things bought in souvenirs shop that won't serve me.
I am traveling to be free, to meet locals, to live like they live for a moment. If only I could tell you the number of times local people asked me : "Really? How did you end up here? There's no tourists usually!". Well, I would say those places are my favorite kind of place!
I'm taveling and couchsurfing because I want to see the world where I'm leaving and because I strongly believe it is the school of life.

- Learn to drive (manual transmission) in Iceland.
- Live in a family for almost a month in Spain (school project).
- Student exchange of 6 months in Belgium.
- Sleep in the Sahara desert for one night, in Morocco.
- Travel alone and couchsurf for the first time in Sweden.
- Spend less than a day in Germany only to go to Köln Carneval.
- Go to a punk show in one of the most underground places in Lithuania (and feel way out of my comfort zone haha!).
- Cross the border between Latvia & Lithuania by feet.
- Get a piercing in Portugal.
- Hitchhike and drive a scooter for the first time of my life in Malta.
- Spend Christmas time in Italy and New Year's Eve in Croatia.
- Do a roadtrip in Croatia and improvise a day trip in Bosnia.
- Watch a hockey game of my home town team in Slovenia with my host and his friends.
- Camping in hammocks on the beach and in the jungle in Porto Rico.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm looking forward to be more fluent in Spanish!
I would like to learn German.
I could teach you French in exchange.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I want to share moments and memories. I want them to introduce me to their culture and lifestyle as well as I'll introduce them to mine.
I love cooking with my hosts, especially typical meal from their country! :)
