About Me

Hey there, I am a German living in Sweden where I chose to settle for a bit and study after three years of travelling. To keep the traveller spirit I am more than happy to host other travellers in my beautiful shared house in the south of Sweden close to Malmö — so if you are passing through, you’re welcome to stay and hang out around the fire or in town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to keep the travelling spirit in times I am not able to travel myself. And when travelling, I prefer spending time with locals and experience the local culture by actually living it rather than renting a room in an impersonal hotel.

Interests

Even though I am from a big city (and I love it!) I am pretty much an outdoor girl. I love hiking and exploring nature, biking, skiing, (ice) skating, swimming, riding horses...
But I also love to be creative and paint, draw or make my own pottery.

And I love cooking. So wherever I go or whoever comes to my place I would be more than happy to create a dish from whatever comes my mind. And of course I love to learn from you. Cooking together is more fun anyway. (:

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: honestly, this is hard. I like a lot of different music from all over the world some of them being Sona Jobarteh, Geoffrey Oryema, Los Bitchos, Polo&Pan, L'Imperatrice, Titi Robin, Mogli, Neil Young, America, Manu Chao…… From cumbia to tribal to reggae to electronic and techno you’ll find a bit of everything in my playlists.

Films: I don’t watch so many but Into the Wild is an all time favourite.

Books: probably still Harry Potter. But Shantaram and 40 Rules of Love have changed my reading landscape more recently.

Rolling naked in the snow.

Teach, Learn, Share

Travelling for me means to develop. I cannot get enough of other peoples stories and experiences and love to share mine as well.

I have worked and volunteered in permaculture and general agriculture, and love to work in the garden around my house.

Yoga has become my anker during my travels and in times of uncertainty. I am a certified teacher and happy to give a class whenever I get the chance. Also at home or in the park or at the beach…

I speak fluent German and English and am happy to share these languages. I am also learning French and would appreciate somebody to drag me out of my comfort zone and get me speaking a bit more (;

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to share my yoga and language skills, to cook (mainly Indian) and bake cakes and bread.
