About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To figure out what I like and don't like.
ABOUT ME
Well, I'd love to say I'm a stereotypical Canadian who says eh a lot and enjoys an abundance of maple syrup...but times have changed. I've moved to the Greater LA region to pursue my graduate studies in marine ecology. My accent and habit of saying eh has slowly evolved into a string of y'alls and restrooms/bathrooms (instead of saying washroom like they do in Canada). But on a serious note, being in school has made it hard for me to be active here on CS...but I hope it doesn't stay that way! I'd love to get out and explore the LA CS scene!
Here's a couple things about me: I love the ocean and everything about it. I am a Christian who loves God and sees beauty in His creation. Nature brings me immense joy. I love getting to know others and listening to their stories...there is SO much value in that!
PHILOSOPHY
What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination will affect everything. It will decide what gets you out of bed in the mornings, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything. - Pedro Arrupe
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I experience life with others. I share my stories in exchange for yours!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed through Australia! Met some fantastic folks that have restored my faith in humanity! There really are genuine, kind and altruistic people out there who don't have ulterior motives! Imagine that!
I requested a couch in Perth for 2 nights....it turned into an entire month! I met a lifelong friend, sister in Christ and travel companion! Had a wonderful time!!!
Interests
I love swimming. I love marine life. The ocean is where I feel most at home.
I love learning, especially from passionate folks. If you have something you're passionate about, spread it! I'd love to learn from you!
I enjoy listening to music. I think I have an addiction to it actually. I enjoy indie, alternative, dance, electro, trap, disco, folk, pop among the many other genres of music. (Not a big fan of country music though...despite being from Alberta, Canada...)

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies/Documentaries: Planet Earth, Life of Mammals, Blue Planet, The Help, Life of Pi, Moonrise Kingdom, Napoleon Dynamite, Finding Nemo, Lego Movie
Music: Love music. Can't say I'm a huge fan of country, but everything else pretty much goes =)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I worked in Bamfield, British Columbia, Canada, I saw a whale breach in the inlet from my office window! It was amazing! I also rowed to work everyday...awesome!
I swam with a 7m long whale shark in Exmouth, Australia. It was an amazing experience to be able to swim in unity with such a beautiful animal! (I know, I know...that's two amazing things.)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach
I love teaching others about marine ecosystems. I can teach you how to knit, make cards, bake, cook, edit videos and take pictures.
Learn
I am always up to learn. I want to learn about other people's journeys and their experiences. I want to learn how to surf, speak other languages, and how to cook different cuisines.
Share
I want to share my story, my experiences, and my passion for this life I've been given. Hang out with me for a bit and see what I have to offer!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a history of taking my dish washing gloves with me wherever I go. I am totally down to be a part of your life, be it washing dishes, cooking hearty vegetarian meals, baking scrumptious sweets (and bread!)...don't be shy to let me know how I can help!
