About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current objective is to enjoy traveling and experiencing life while contributing to the world through teaching. I love learning more about the world and continuing to improve my teaching skills, deepen my yoga practice and offer the understanding that I have found to my students.

ABOUT ME

I'm a traveler and a yogi, an amateur musician and scientist. I aim for balance in my life, and work towards acceptance and understanding in every moment. Joy and connection are my motivations and I try to share the perspective and experience of unity that I have found whenever and however I can :) I currently live in Chiang Mai, Thailand where I enjoy a very active lifestyle focused on fitness and fun!

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that I have been extremely fortunate in my life to have found so many loving and enlightened people. Through all my teachers - including all of the people, nature, music, science and art in my experiences - I have come to understand the interconnected nature of our incredible existence. This fundamental unity informs my perspective and interactions. I feel that everyone and everything are parts of myself, and I work to accept and embrace all unconditionally :) In other words, I love you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One thing I've learned from traveling for many years is that it's all about the people you meet. So what better way to travel than to dive right into the company of like-minded folks!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love them... I'm just a huge fan of all of that. I have spent an inordinate amount of time in my life dancing wildly as the most incredible live musicians on the planet act as conduits for the vibrational knowledge and beauty of the universe. I also enjoy strumming a guitar and beating on a drum now and again :) Movies are a passion of mine and I try to see all that I can, but that apparently means that I forget a lot of them too, there just must not be enough room in my head for all of it! I've read some great books, but I'd rather discuss them in person than list them here, just ask!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sorry, can't pick just one... so here's a few highlights: Climbed to the top of Yen Tu, a holy pagoda topped mountain in Northern Viet Nam. Jam Cruise, Burning Man, Phish!!! Scuba diving an atoll in Belize for a week from a tiny, wonderfully leaky cabana on the beach. Bought a Volvo in Sweden and drove all over Scandinavia. Lived in Asheville, NC for a decade (seriously amazing place), and a decade in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which is an unbelievably comfortable and nourishing place to live. Oh yeah, hiked 200 km through the Himalayas around the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. Climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm more than happy to expound upon Yoga, Philosophy and Hugs! (maybe a little science, if you really want to know). I can also cook and fix just about anything, if you host me, you may find that things you thought were broken for good get repaired! I also play guitar and sing, and am always down for a little jam session. I'd like to learn everything and anything you would like to share :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you about Yoga, play you some music, I can give you the best hug in the universe ;) We can also cook food together, practice languages, and share travel advice about the many interesting places we've been or lived.
