About Me
Hello lovely people!
My name is Celeste, from San Antonio, TX, USA! I'm a lover of many things including music, art, nature, culture, and Jesus.
When I was in my last year of university, I discovered Couch Surfing that positively shaped my life. During a backpacking trip across Italy, fell in love with discovering wonderful people, and I especially treasured the lasting friendships I made on my journey. Since then, I've carried on to seek many beautiful things and places in the world including living for a few months in the Philippines in an impoverished area.
As mentioned before, I sing and write many songs, and have a YouTube channel with some of them: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWM8Iqlu85Y) but my main source of income is from teaching kids from ages 4-14 music at a Catholic school! I love it!
Fun fact #1: I played volleyball in college, and if theres any vball games where you're at, you can count me in! :)
Fun fact #2: I'm the third oldest of seven siblings. Altogether we are 8.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling solo, and though I could go about my own path without Couch Surfing, theres something about CS that incredibly enriches my time abroad and domestically. But I think it starts with the generous and kind hearts of others who host, guide, and gather people together to share with one another! It's invaluable!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2022, I decided I would spend a few months volunteering with religious sisters in the Philippines.
It was an agricultural college, and I had no experience in agriculture, but I taught the students music and english on a farm. The students all came from a mountainous region in indigenous parts of Mindoro, and were seeking to learn a trade to help their families out of poverty. With only an elementary school education, many didn't know how to read or write, but they were all so brave to come (free tuition) to developing skills and work the farm.
Most challenging, and humbling experience I ever had. Love my 40 students to death.
Teach, Learn, Share
Since I'm a music teacher, I would be glad to help in that department!
I'm also a devout Catholic, and love to talk about the faith. <3
