About Me

I can be a little shy at first, but really I'm quite the opposite once you get past that first layer. I love experiencing new things, and especially love traveling. I'm pretty adventurous when I'm out and about. I am also a self-proclaimed foodie: though I may be somewhat more selective about what I eat than most, I'm usually more than willing to try something different at LEAST once. Oh, sidenote. Kind of a nerd and cosplayer, so there's that.

My background: I grew up in Central America, but have spent half my life in the US. With that said, I speak both English and Spanish fluently.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's always an adventure, and I absolutely love meeting new people and discovering new places. I have befriended some truly memorable/amazing people because of this site (especially in Vancouver) that I still keep in contact with.

Interests

Art, languages, exploring, soccer/futbol, photography, cosplay, archery, food
Dr. Who, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, retro gamer
I love animals- and have an Italian Greyhound named Tiago and a Panamanian Boa named Penny.
I wouldn't consider myself an outdoors person but I LOVE outdoor activities (fishing, horseback riding, going to the beach, hiking, etc.).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read. Among my favorites: J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, Susan Cooper, JK Rowling, Paulo Coelho. Probably my two favorite books would be The Count of Monte Cristo and Pride and Prejudice.
When it comes to movies, I love Tarantino and Mel Brooks. I'm a huge fan of the older Disney films along with the comic book adaptations (X-Men, Avengers, etc.). On a completely different note, Gran Torino was absolutely amazing. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is also in my top 10. And Beerfest is my favorite comedy.
My taste in music is varied. I'll listen to top 40s but I also love me some 80s, 90s, and 2000s. I like some Latin pop/rock and an occasional salsa song. Probably the best concert I've been to was RHCP, though Aerosmith would be a close second.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

FIFA World Cup game in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to experience other cultures and learn new languages. I'm also a big fan of trying new foods.
As for me, I can teach Spanish (I used to tutor), some basic origami, and how to make some awesome apple cobbler. I also have quite the arsenal of stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Randomness - that's how my life tends to go. I am super low maintenance, easygoing, and we can discuss our greatest adventures over a few drinks.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Scotland, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

Panama, United States
